Making things New
by Dmarie on

Taking a short walk outside my soul was lifted with the cool 'promise of Spring "  breeze.  I was delighted to see the green tops of perennials pushing through the crusted soil. We can be thankful for this yearly event when God makes  things fresh and new upon the earth.

This Spring we also have an opportunity to make things new,  within the political realm of our Nation.  For far too long many of God's people have sat on the sidelines, choosing not to get involved in praying for God-fearing candidates, let alone campaigning for them.  Many of these candidates would benefit from door- knocking volunteers to those who would submit Letters to the Editor's of local newspapers.

Tomorrow, February 20th South Carolinians , situated within the Bible Belt of American, are headed to the polls to vote for their choice for the Republican candidate for President of the United States.  It is important that we boldly approach the throne of Heaven and ask the Lord to have His will in this most important election, which could set the stage for Super Tuesday elections.

Pastors all over the country need to remind their flock to honor their God given right to vote.  Even though the date for registering to vote has passed, many states will still allow citizens to register by contacting the Secretary of State.  For those teens who will turn 18 by the November general election, they too can register to vote in the Primary election for the President race only.

In addition, Many Precincts throughout the States are still in need of Poll workers.  By checking with your local County Election Board you can sign up to work.

Join with the thousands of Born-again Christians in praying for, voting for, and campaigning for God fearing candidates

Doing our part: Election Edict
by Dmarie on

One week from today, November 3rd, God's people, once again, have an opportunity to stand against the proliferation of evil.  Granted it stands to reason that it is a no-brainer situation in that we would not be a part of legalizing marijuana.  However, the promoters of this drug monopoly have attempted to make the opponents of this amendment to Ohio's Constitution seem like heartless, uncaring thugs, unwilling to allow marijuana to be used for medical treatment.  What they fail to mention is the sinister ,secretive and subversive effort  behind this proposed amendment.

It would be a lengthy endeavor to say the least if all of the lesser known facts behind this amendment were included in this writing, therefore it is recommended that you log on to Ballotpedia for Ohio and avail yourself to the information included in the articles related to Issue 3.

A comment was made by one individual that if the grass-root conservatives and "Born Again" Christians turned out in significant numbers, the amendment would be defeated.  Yes, you read correctly, "Born Again" Christians.  Seems we will be blamed if this measure does not pass.  We shall accept the unintended praise.

The game plan is this:  We must encourage our Brother and Sisters to vote in this upcoming election; voting YES on Issue "2 "and NO on Issue 3

Ohio House HR 248
by Dmarie on

For almost four years this resolution has been sitting in committee.  It is long overdue for a floor vote, which more than likely will overwhelmingly pass.  Some believe that Governor Kasich has prevented this issue from reaching the floor so that it will not pass on his watch.  Life should never be used for political gain.

Please ask your Senator to encourage Senator Robert Sprague to bring the Heartbeat Bill out of committee for a floor vote.  It would be great if it would be voted on before Thanksgiving.

In addition, please call Senator Sprague yourself @ 614 466 3819 and let him know that you want him to send this resolution to the floor for a vote.

Ohio House Bill 597
by Dmarie on

Thousands of Ohioan's flooded the phone lines of the members of the House Rules and Reference Committee in an effort to encourage them to vote the Common Core Repeal and Replacement Bill out of committee.  The phone calls made a difference and the Bill was sent to the Senate floor to be voted on.  The majority of Ohioan's are against the Federally mandated standards and are pushing hard to get it repealed.

It is now up to Senator Keith Faber to bring the Bill to a vote.  Many Ohioan's will be calling Senator Faber @ 614 466 7589, encouraging him to do so.  In addition they will be contacting their own Senator to stand with us in seeing that this Bill does come for a vote.

Will you join us?  Our children's education is hanging in the balance.

The Pulpit and Politics
by Dmarie on

The belief that the Church should not become involved in the political arena is not a Scriptural position.  God established government in the day of Moses and throughout the Bible we learn how God used His people to stand against those nations and people who were the enemies of God.  Our Nation was founded by men of God who knew it was their scriptural responsibility to separate themselves from tyranny.  History teaches us about the Black Robe regimen consisting of preachers who wore their military uniform under their clerical robe.

In a recent issue of the Christian Law Association, a set of guidelines is presented of which the Church should consider.  This list of do's"  include conducting voter registration, distribute neutral voter information materials stating the positions of the candidates for a particular office and even using the church facility for a meet the candidate's event, as long as all candidates for a particular office are invited.

The Church also has the right to support or oppose legislation that directly affects the structure and operation of the organization without limitation.  The Pastor may and should preach sermons on social and political issues.  The local church may also engage in education on the political process and provide information regarding political issues, participate in a petition drive that support or oppose specific legislation and encourage their members to communicate with their legislators regarding support or opposition to the contents of a petition.

God's people have been silent for too long.  We must follow the example of our Godly Forefathers.  Although a church cannot endorse a particular candidate or place campaign signs on church property, it does need to speak out about issues which are contrary to the Word.

Priamary Responsibility
by Dmarie on

Tomorrow, May 6th, God's people have a Scriptural responsibility to exercise their divine right to vote in the Ohio primary election.  As citizens of this State and future citizens of  Heaven, we must not take this election in an apathetic frame of mind.

Throughout the state there have been many conservative men and women who have answered the call to run for various offices in an effort to bring conservative values back into our government.  Now is the time to make a difference in the State of Ohio.

The challenge is up to Christians to stem the tide of liberal, anti-
God agenda in our local and state governments.  We must take a stand for Liberty, Life, and Family.  It is for this reason that we must elect those people who support the HeartBeat Bill, who stand for Biblical marriage, and  who are aware of the dangers of Common Core Education.

It is a fact that many elections have been decided by just ONE vote.  Your vote will make a difference.  We are at the eleventh hour in getting informed so that an educated decision can be made as each of us becomes involved in electing conservative candidates.  Do not pass up this opportunity to stand up for Christ!  Encourage your friends and family to exercise their God-given responsibility to vote~!

HeartBeat Alert
by Dmarie on

Janet Porter of Faith2Action is taking the message of LIFE to the airways.  Her message will air in 300 radio markets  beginning tomorrow, encouraging Keith Faber to choose Life.  The jist of her message is that Senator Keith Faber is the man who will decide if babies live or die.  He will either be known as the man who ended abortion in Ohio, or the man who allowed 26,000 Ohio babies to be killed each year.

Ms. Porter further states that if Keith Faber brings the HeartBeat Bill to the Senate Floor, it will pass, and the House will follow, and the killing will end.  Faber and the Ohio Senators need to quit blaming the Court's for their inaction and stand for LIFE.

Following the radio spots, Robo-calls will be made to communicate the difference between Senate Candidates in their stand for Life:

Senate Candidates who support the HeartBeat Bill
District 1 - Corey Shankleton
District 3 - Kevin Solveson
District 7 - Caleb Davenport
District 29 - Dennis Harbert

Senate Candidates who DO NOT support the HeartBeat Bill
District 1 - Cliff Hite*
District 3- Kevin Bacon
District 7 - Shannon Jones
District 27 - Frank LaRose*
District 29 - Scott Oelslager*

*Senator Cliff Hite also voted for H.B. 176  - to expand the homosexual agenda and strip religious freedom from business owners
*Senator Frank LaRose sponsored S.B. 125 to expand the homosexual agenda and strip religious freedom from business owners
*Senator Scott Oelslager voted 'yes' on a procedural move to kill the HeartBeat bill (Ohio Senate Journal 11/29/12, pg  6, listed under the previous bill number H.B.125)

The HeartBeat bill, which will legally protect babies in the womb with audible beating hearts from being murdered, has passed in Arkansas and North Dakota, and has been introduced in a dozen states.  It has been sitting in the Ohio Senate for four years.

Would you like to have a part in saving the lives of 26,000 babies each year?  Please call Senator Faber and ask him to choose life and bring the HeartBeat Bill to a floor vote now!   The # for LIFE:  614 466 7584

Charter Schools under attack
by Dmarie on

Two lawmakers announced their intention to introduce legislation in the Ohio to audit charter schools in what seems to be an attempt to force them to comply with public record laws.  They propose that if schools are going to be a part of  education in Ohio that they must follow all of the rules that apply to state schools

The legislation would mandate that management and sponsorship of these schools would be by the state instead of a private accounting firm, which is not obligated to publicly share information of their clients.

Under the guise of protecting the education of our children by assuring that they receive the education that they deserve (common core?), these men are advocating further government control of education.

Senator Joe Schiavoni (of Boardman) and Representative  John Carney (of Columbus) hope to obtain co-sponsors of this bill to force annual audits of Ohio's charter schools and they seem to be expecting support from the Governor.   However  the State is already auditing Charter Schools, leaving one to question the reasoning for these men advocating such legislation,

Interestingly enough, Carney is running for State Auditor,

Freedom Ohio
by Dmarie on

Coming to your local county fair and community events this year will be petitioners who will approach you to sign their petition for 'Freedom' in Ohio.  Sounds good, doesn't it.

Regardless of what logo is printed on the document, Ohioans need to carefully read what they are signing.  In this particular case, one would add their name to those who promote, defend and want to legalize same-sex marriages.

God refers to Sodomy as an abomination to Him.  He loves the sinner, but hates the sin.  We should do likewise.  God also wants us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Any legalization of sin opens the door for the persecution of Christians.  In this case, any church, business or person who refuses services to Sodomite couples will face judicial ramifications.  It will be the law. God's people will be placed in a situation of  having to obey God, rather than men............For some it may entail financial loss, imprisonment, and even personal harm.

Our Constitution guarantees freedom from religious persecution.  Our judicial system seems bent on enforcing the opposite.  Let us stand for liberty in Ohio.  Be careful what you sign.

Christians For Constitutional Awareness is a ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  The desire of our ministry is to Inform Christians of local, state and national policies; to help Christians become Involved with influencing these policies; and finally, but most importantly, encourage Christians to Intercede on behalf of their government and our leaders.

We are excited that you have visited our website and we would encourage you to sign up for our E-mail News Alerts. You can also find us on Facebook.

Welcome to Christians for Constitutional Awareness. We are excited about what God is doing in our country.  An amazing thought to consider today is that when our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence they were not only declaring independence from Britian; they were declaring DEPENDENCE upon GOD ALMIGHTY!

Our Founding Fathers did not subscribe to the idea of Separation of God from Government. Quite the contrary they knew and proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence that they were fully reliant on God's provision, protection and prosperity as they sought to create a new nation.
